What is Caching?

Caching is ideal for users who are looking for a simple way to get SSD speed without changing their current setup or sacrificing storage space. Working in tandem with a spinning hard drive (HDD), utilizing a solid state drive (SSD) as a cache drive will boost overall performance and increase life span of any notebook or desktop PC.

The Way SSD Caching Works

SSD caching fills a partition on a solid state drive (SSD) with the most frequently queued data from commonly used applications rather than storing it on the hard drive it's working with.

For example, a 128GB cache drive will enable users to cache the majority of data from commonly used applications that will, in turn, reduce the wear on the spinning hard drive by calling from the cached information directly from the SSD. A 32GB cache drive will be more discerning about the information cached based on the drive's storage capacity but it will still collect plenty of data to make using programs like Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office, or Steam run smoother than previously before.

When new programs, applications, or games are installed, their frequent use information will be automatically be cached to the SSD as well, keeping optimal performance.

I've recently purchased a Super Cache SSD. Problem is my Activation Key for FNet doesn't work. I get stuck at a loading loop with a 12 in the middle.

HybriDisk caching enhances the system files, Windows files and program files, all which will be located on the 100GB partition. Using anything additional as cache would be trying to cache the same drive, which would be counter productive.

Additionally, you would be trying to cache large fie data, which SSDs are faster at, but only 3-4X faster. The smaller system files are what you would want to cache because an SSD is 80-100X faster at reading and writing those files.

Remember, using the SSD as the system disk is always the best way to go. If you have the ability, we suggest using the entire SSD to run windows directly.

I hope this isn't asking too much but when I'm installing windows would I create say a 100gb partition for windows then install the hybridisk software and just select the rest of the 128 ssd to be the cache ??

I want to have a pure SSD boot and cached hard drive with performance close to that of a SSD.

My SC2 128gb NGFF drive does not show up in the "cache" window.
I am using Lenovo Ideapad Y510p and Windows 8.1.
Drive firmware was updated to 1.7, no change.
Hybridisk Version is the current 2.02.00

Help is greatly appreciated.

FNet HybriDisk activation codes are somewhat confusing and we've had a few cases similar to what you've described here. Please try entering the code again keeping in mind that a zero will have a diagonal slash through it and a capital letter "O" will not.

If you try this and still experience activation issues, please contact our Tech Support team directly at info@mydigitaldiscount.com for further assistance.

Mine says "Activation failed" too. It says I'm not connected to the Internet, which I am! All other applications work fine.
