Synopsis: Check out Tom's test results to see the noticeable difference between the two and why the 34 nm drives are the best value around today!

A quick Google search may tell you that OCZ drives aren't all they're cracked up to be. Well that's not entirely wrong but the controversy surrounded the performance of their 25 nm drives as their speeds and capacities were well below what was advertised. Unlike 25 nm drives, OCZ 34 nm drives meet their advertised speeds and offer a reliable solution for your upgrade needs.

To prove it, the fine folks Tom's Hardware setup performance testing between a 25 nm and 34 nm OCZ Vertex 2 SSDs and the results spoke for themselves.

According to Tom's Hardware, the OCZ Vertex 2 SSD with 34 nm NAND flash work well under pressure. They noted that, “the 34 nm-based Vertex 2 picks up significantly more performance when it’s bombed with concurrent requests.” In one of their benchmark tests, the average I/O operations per second were seen to be 25% higher on the 34 nm than on the 25 nm.

Overall, with solid performance from a reputable company, you can’t go wrong with the OCZ Vertex 2 34nm SSD or any of their 34 nm SATA II drives.
