Please note that the firmware installation below necessitates a Windows PE environment run on a PC. After updated on a PC, the drive can be used in either a PC or a Mac.

Hi, Just one question : how to know what firmware is installed in my SSD Verbatim Black Edition ? I have bought it last week, and I would know if the upgrade is necessary or not ? Thanks |

Hi. Thank you very much for the update. Got my Verbatim 128GB SSD firmware updated! It had the Phison PS3105 firmware version 014 when it came from the store. Greetings from Norway. |

After updating to FW 17 my Verbatim SSD was a litte more stable - but after 14 days working my 4K-64 in AS SSD Benchmark was down from 33 Mb/s to 1 Mb/s. The System was very slow and Blue-Screens came. A Backup of the system works perfect on an other SSD. Perhaps FW can help? I hope so |

Peter, When performing the Firmware update, it must be performed while hooked to a SATA port running in AHCI mode. If connected via USB, it will not work and you will see the error you're receiving. Being that you're performing this Firmware update on a Corsair Nova 2, and not a MyDigitalSSD drive, My Digital Discount cannot be held responsible if any issues arise from trying to install this update. |

I have a corsair nova 2 (so my need for this firmware is perhaps obvious :p) but I am having some trouble upgrading. After I open the upgrade tool when booting from USB it tells me "can't detect any device"... Help? |

Max 23, Great question. It needs to be controlled by an AHCI SATA port, so internal is the way to go. USB drivers will not work. |

Is it possible to plug the ssd into a common sata to usb casing and connect it to a windows pc via cable to make the update or is it necessary to use the internal port?? Cheers Max |

Michael - We've asked but have yet to receive documentation outlining the changes in the latest Firmware. If we get our hands on anything, we'll be sure to post it here. Chris - Yes, they should work just fine. |
