Hello. I bought a Verbatim 128Gb Black Edition. Its firmware was the S5FAM018 so I decided not to downgrade to the S5FAM017. Before I find some time to ask here why there is no S5FAM018 published here, a S5FAM030 just popped out !

We're quite happy to hear about the improved performance of your drive and thank you for hanging in there throughout the wait. Enjoy your "new" drive!

Hello back there MyDigitalSSD.
I've installed the S5FAM030 and as far I as I can say it's working way better than any other published firmware.

My method for each upgrade is the same since the beginning: I first make a copy of my SSD onto another disk using linux and dd, I boot under the WinPE USB KEY, upgrade, copying back the data from linux, booting under windows, test.

Now the performance is like it was never before, Paint.net is launching in a second, laptop is booting in half a minute to opened session, and YES, YESSS, the 100% activity time when doing things like windows update have disappeared !!

So, I must thank you.

Thanks for not have made our wait a waste.

check - Unfortunately, as we do not carry that particular drive, nor do we have access to the Corsair's technical team, we do not know if they put any internal restrictions on the controller that we can not detect. Because of this, any FW upgrade you're looking to make will need to go through Corsair directly.

Gull - We think you'll find it's worth the wait.

Bouble and KnallTüte,

Good news, we've just received the latest firmware update! We're currently testing it out and creating a tutorial so hopefully this will address the issues you're having. It should be available for download early next week so be sure to check back.

I updated weeks agon to S5FAM017, before I had 012, with the 012 the disk as unable to use. But I have still a problem, if my PC runs windows update / installers or similar updates, the pc start to lag (like hanging). Using a normal HD there are no such issues.
Is this already known and if yes, will be there an update soon ?
because installation and update-processes takes minutes, instead of seconds with a normal HD ?

I have a verbatim 128GB black ed. using FW17.
My Win7 starts to hang during Norton 360 running the live-update.
Same happens when windows update is running.
While systems hangs, the SSD lit and I found out it's the result of heavy disk usage. Is there any solution to delay some processes in disk usage, that using the disk in a high frequency or better will there be a FW that solve the issue?
