You can update to 030 using the windows PE method of 017 (or booting with an other disk in Windows, jut not use the SSD you want to update as system drive and make sure your are in AHCI mode)
here is the windows (PE) 030 firmware (it is from verbatim, but it is the same for all drives with Phison controllers)

kres - We just revised the Firmware tutorial to include updating your SSD in Compatibility mode, using the commands Steven first mentioned in the comments below. We suggest downloading our tutorial again and giving that a try.

If Compatibility mode doesn't work, you may need to talk to Corsair directly about the issue.

I'm also not able to update my Corsair Nova 2 60GB to the latest firmware on my Lenovo T400 laptop. When I run ISP in Compatibility mode, I always get this: No valid SATA device exist !!

After 'dlmc /scanport' i have found 'Address:496(0x1f0)Master' device (so my SSD is Primary Master). When I use 'dlmc 0x1f0 -slave' solution from Steven, I only get a black screen with a blinking cursor in upper left corner (after 5 mins nothing else happen).

...After restart I tried to use 'dlmc 0x1f0 -master' and the result is:
Check Device Ready...
Continue [Y/N]: y

But after entering 'y' I have the message:

[SubErr :1] Got FW-Name not correctly !!! (FBO-S5B-S5F)- 5.02
(twice) and:
[Error :11] Run:CheckRunningCode Failed._Not on Burner

and overall FAIL result :(

Any suggestions?

Steven, you're the man!
Thank you soooo much!
This command worked for me on my Lenovo T520 laptop with 64GB myDigitalSSD mSATA:
dlmc 0x1f0 -slave

I quickly ran a few benchmarks and it looks like this firmware is a huge improvement to write performance. That without sacrificing read performance. Great job, MyDigitalDiscount!

Thank you!

J Bone & Christoph - We're happy to hear it!

Steven - Thank you for that tip!

Roger - Have you tried Steven's suggestion for the X220? That might be able to help your issue. If not, we can look into making a WinPE based update.

abdn-android: Trick is to install it booting a USB disk. Read the pdf for more infos.

len@lenwickens.ca: My own 128GB device was updated successfully with it, thought it wipes all the data.

So: you should make a backup before updating the firm.

Hello, I updated my Verbatim Black 128 M from Firmware 011 to 030. Now the drive runs as expected for an SSD. Thanks for your support and your investigation at the manufacturer. Verbatim sucks - no support there. My next drive comes from mydigitaldiscount!!

Regards, Christoph

I was able figure out how to update MyDigitalSSD 64Gb mSATA on my X220. You need to enter the command 'dlmc 0x1f0 -slave'. I found the port number by using the command dlmc. Also you need to set the SATA Controller to 'Compatibility Mode'.

I remembered the '-slave' switch from a prior BIOS update that I performed.

Can you please provide a firmware update tool that works with AHCI (like the WinPE based update for FW17) because i have a x220 and cannot update as well. Shouldn't be a big problem to provide a WinPE based update if this was already done before.

Your help would be very much appreciated!!!

Cheers Roger
