Steve Paine, or “Chippy” as most know him, of UMPC Portal has crafted together a how-to video with the new MyDigitalSSD BP4 USB 3.0 mSATA enclosure with USAP support. Watch the video above to learn just how easy it is to assemble a portable storage device of your own!
The BP4 enclosure comes packaged with a screwdriver and screw set to complete the assembly. All you need is the SSD, Chippy chose to test the enclosure with a MyDigitalSSD 512GB Bullet Proof 4 Eco (BP4e) in one test and a 240GB Bullet Proof 4 (BP4) in another to show viewers how the device handled varying capacities.
Running tests with CrystalDiskMark, Chippy gets results of over 400MB/s read speeds with the USB 3.0 USAP supported BP4 enclosure and is confident that the enclosure’s controller can handle high-speed SSDs.
Chippy achieves transfer speeds of over 200MB/s with large video files to his Ultrabook SSD over a USB 3.0 connection, which left him fairly impressed and recommending the BP4 enclosure for big file transfers...
“Not only have you got great imaging speed there and you’ve also got fantastic transfer speed… if you’re working with big video files, ISOs, games this really is the way to transfer files.”
Chippy also mentioned that pairing the BP4 mSATA enclosure with a 50mm MyDigitalSSD BP4e or BP4 SSD was a “really good option from MyDigitalSSD”.
The MyDigitalSSD BP4 mSATA enclosure was built to be sturdy but light for traveling. Chippy weighs the BP4 enclosure with an SSD and cable at just over 2 ounces.
Chippy also has a MyDigitalSSD M.2 NGFF enclosure so we should be seeing a video about that soon, stay posted!
