Pro Tips
Comment below with any questions you may have and we'll do our best to assist you!
1. Why does my Bosch Motion Sensor continue showing up as a "thing"? I cannot get it to pair properly.
If your Bosch Motion Sensor continues to show up as a "thing" in
discovery mode, this usually indicates that the device was put into discovery
mode before the device handler was created. Please follow the Connect to SmartThings
instructions above in the order they are written up to step 8. At that time, (1) remove the “thing” from your SmartThings app and
(2) reset the sensor according to the instructions in our Troubleshooting
section below.
2. I completed the Connect to SmartThings instructions and put the device into
discovery mode but my sensor is not seen by the SmartThings App.
If this happens, please try to reset your sensor according to the
instructions in our Troubleshooting section below.
3. I can't sign in because my hub isn't showing up on My Locations in the Developer API. What can I do?
If you find your hub is not listed under My Locations, its likely you're not
using your current login and password info from your SmartThings App. Please
create a new account using your SmartThings App login information.
Having trouble connecting your device? Follow these steps to remove your device in SmartThings and reset factory settings.

These sensors are amazing! I have a Samsung SmartHub Firmware Version 000.030.00005 Hardware Version Hub v3 US and they work fine. Just make sure to carefully follow the directions for setting up using your SmartThings Developer API Account. The light doesn't blink when there's motion but that's not an issue for my applications. |

Hi I have a ISW-ZPR1-WP13 which I purchased a few years ago and it's connected and works flawlessly. Because that one worked so well I purchased a few more but now I can't get them to pair with ST. What I try to "Add a Thing" it never finds it despite following the reset protocol on the detector. I tried it on a brand new V2 hub and same issue. Please help. |

I bought 16 Motion Sensors. Followed the setup and connect instructions, Half of them paired to the ST hub, the other half did not. Of the 8 that paired, all report temperature, and all report motion by flashing the light in the walkaround test, but only 2 report motion (ide live logging) to ST in normal operation. Any suggestions?

Is there a way to disable the 3 minute lockout after motion is detected? I'm using it to turn on lights and would like it to be monitoring constantly.
MyDigitalDiscount.com:
Unfortunately, no. Bosch motion sensors only have 1 timeout option. |

I'm trying to create an automation routine but the Smartthings doesn't shown the Boch sensor, the sensor is already pair and working but i would like to create an action when it detects motion but I'm not able to do it. Do you know id I need to add other code ?
MyDigitalDiscount.com:
Please refer to the "Connect to SmartThings" and "FAQ" sections of this blog post to try getting the Bosch sensor to show in SmartThings. If the issue persists, we suggest also asking the SmartThings Community forum for assistance as many there have firsthand experience with this sensor and better knowledge of possible workarounds. https://community.smartthings.com/ |

I am able to pair it with ST, however, when I clicked the device name in the app, it says: Can't connect to device, Check device and try again. I delete and create handler a few times and same result.

That is an interesting issue. Before we deem the sensor defective, please check with the experts on the SmartThings forum as they may have a solution for this issue. https://community.smartthings.com/ |

No matter what I do I can't get it into pairing mode. I follow the instructions to reset, Remove top batteries, hold down tamper, insert right battery then left battery, release tamper switch, it still will not go into pairing. Anyone else have this problem?
MyDigitalDiscount.com:
That's strange, have you tried the SmartThings Forum? We know they have a number of users with experience using the Bosch PIR motion sensors. It's possible one of them may be able to better help shed some light on this issue. https://community.smartthings.com/ |

I still cannot pair this device. Step 6 : Copy the update code from this page. The page is blank. Am I missing a step?
