Kilwon, We simply updated the original blog post on May 1st with a couple disclaimers, no new firmware was added. As of this post, S5FAM017_FW.zip is the latest firmware update. |

Hi, i have a MyDigitalSSD mSATA 64gb and i am getting performance issue. I did FW updates and it a little bit work but still so slow. if i want to copy files its really fast but if i want to use disk as a system disk, than it gets slow. If i want to install something like windows update, it is getting really slow like it freezed. And it gets me really hard to work. |

I have a x220 and the performance of the SSD is extremely poor, it is even slower than my 2.5" 320GB HDD, even with the S5FAM017_FW.zip. Very bad SSD |

Well almost two weeks since I update my SSD VERBATIM BLACK EDITION with fwS5FAM017 it runs fluently; before it works for nothing and I was going to throw it to trash can when I found this forum. The instructions where very clear and I succeed without problems. The only problem updating the firmware is that you must backup your files because after all is gone! Thanks very much to MyDigitalDiscount.com!!! |

Marco, For Mac users without the ability to upgrade, we could possibly install the update for you if you were to ship the drive back. Anyone interested can simply, contact info@mydigitaldiscount.com and we'll try to set something up based on where you're located. |

this drive worked OK (with sensed lags here and there) with fw12, but after upgrading to fw17 i can't install windows on it, and my m4500 won't recognize it on the system info section (though in boot sequence section it does recognize it). i wasted 3 days already on that. this drive cost me 100s of $$ in terms of time wasting because my whole business is depended on this laptop. i'm frustrated and really need advice on how to make my computer recognize it and install windows on it |

"If anyone who has updated their Mac, can post here how they did so, that would be a huge help." I'd love to be of help but the solution for me was to borrow a friends PC and put the ssd there... |

RE: Updating a Mac Currently we still have not tried running the WINPE environment on a Mac, but there is a good chance that following the instructions from the tutorial should work. You may need to find an alternate means of creating a bootable USB drive but after the thumb drive is created, as long as you can boot from the USB on your Mac, you should be able to boot into the WINPE environment to run the firmware update. In the meantime we will keep a look out for alternatives. If anyone who has updated their Mac, can post here how they did so, that would be a huge help. |

Matt, This is the first we've heard of this issue. We always suggest starting off by searching message boards or posting to see if anyone else has had that problem. In the meantime, you may want to try and do the upgrade without certain drives plugged in. For example, remove the 2.5 inch hard drive, any SD cards, or express cards you might have plugged in. If all else fails, we would be happy to take the drive back and upgrade the firmware for you. |

Gull, We're happy you're seeing improvement, please keep up posted on how it continues to perform. We always appreciate feedback if there are any hiccups so we can bring it to Phison's attention. |

Thanks, I'm used to it since 012 ;-p Anyway I can say that from the first test after upgrading to S5FAM017 it seems to perform way better, specially on the 4k read / writes where it was awful before (even with S5FAM015) I also cross posted on the forum for sharing the feedback. |

Since the drive is still bugging with S5FAM015, I'm gonna try now with the latest you gave. I'll be back for feedback about S5FAM017 before the evening. Specs: a full W7x64 install on a 128GB SSD drive. I'm currently backing it up. |
